”Falsify” by Munk Duane

Boston, MA — June 2, 2025 — Recording artist, producer, and film composer Munk Duane is set to release his final single under his longtime moniker with the bold and sonically rich track “Falsify” on Monday, June 2.2025, has already been a landmark year for Duane. His song “We’ve Talked About This Before” was eligible for GRAMMY® consideration for Song of the Year at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards, and in February, he unveiled Fearless Moral Inventory—a full-length album featuring reimagined versions of his critically acclaimed singles from the past several years.

Now, with the release of “Falsify,” Duane brings a definitive close to a creative era that began in 2020 with his single “Dangerous. “This song marks what I feel is a final word on a body of work I started during the pandemic,” Duane explains. “Over the last five years, I’ve been exploring a cohesive blend of retro soul and modern indie-pop. Falsify ties it all together. It also draws from my favourite, Prince-inspired ’80s synth-pop textures—think classic LinnDrum and vintage synths—but reframes them in a darker modern context to express a visceral sense of betrayal and frustration in today’s climate of political and social manipulation and corruption. The sound and the sentiment are both a final punctuation.”

Duane also reveals that this chapter’s closing marks the beginning of a new artistic direction.
“I’m working on a new project called Circles of Saints, born from the lessons I’ve learned composing for film,” he says. “Artists like Son Lux, Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent, and Bon Iver have been huge influences as of late, and this new work reflects that shift. It just doesn’t fit the Munk Duane narrative—and I think it’s important for stories to end so new ones can begin.”

“Falsify” was written, performed, and produced by Munk Duane and mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering in Los Angeles, renowned for his work on GRAMMY®-winning releases by The Black Keys, Bebe Rexha, Mac Miller, and Post Malone, among others. In addition to his solo releases, Duane is an accomplished composer for film and television, contributing music to Extreme Music (a division of Sony Music Publishing), Bleeding Fingers Music (co-owned by Hans Zimmer), and Pitch Hammer, known for producing trailer music for Disney and Marvel.
